MTRCB: G, PG-rated na mga palabas lang pwede sa PUVs

MANILA, Philippines- Pinaalalahanan ng Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) nitong Martes ang drivers at operators na tanging television shows at mga pelikula lamang  na may “G” at “PG” ratings ang pwedeng ipalabas sa public utility vehicles (PUVs).

Sa abiso, sinabi nga ahensya na iniatas ang limitasyon sa MTRCB Memorandum Circular No. 09-2011 kung saan nakasaad ang mga alituntunin sa public exhibition ng mga pelikula sa common carriers at iba pang pampublikong lugar.

Sinumang lalabag dito ay maaaring makulong sa loob ng tatlong buwan hanggang isang taon at pagmultahin ng P2,000 hanggang P5,000. Maaari rin umanong bawiin ang kanilang prangkisa, batay sa MTRCB.

Sa ilalim ng Memorandum Circular No. 09-2011, “all common carriers and other public places that openly and publicly exhibit motion pictures shall be treated as movie theaters for the purposes of regulation by the Board”.

“Owing to their service character and accessibility to the public regardless of age, common carriers and other public places can only publicly exhibit such motion pictures classified by the Board as for General Patronage (G) or Parental Guidance (PG),” anang ahensya.

Ang mga palabas na may G ratings ay akma para sa mga bata habang ang PG-rated contents ay maaaring may nilalamang “some adult materials that may be permissible for children to watch but only under the guidance and supervision of a parent or adult”.

Noong 2011, pumasok ang MTRCB sa Memoranda of Agreement sa Land Transport Franchising Regulatory Board, at sa Maritime Industry Authority na magtulungan upang protektahan ang publiko mula sa anumang public exhibition ng TV programs at mga sine, na itinuturing ng Board, batay sa contemporary Filipino cultural values, na “offensive”.
