Pag-iwas sa COVID sa Halalan 2022 tinalakay ng Comelec, gov’t agencies

MANILA, Philiipines- Tinalakay ng Commission on Elections (Comelec), Department of Education (DepEd), at Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) nitong Lunes ang mga preparasyon upang gawing COVID-19-proof (coronavirus disease) ang darating na 2022 national at local elections.
Sa election stakeholders’ forum na inorganisa ng National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel), ipinakita ni Comelec Deputy Executive Director for Operations Teopisto Elnas Jr. ang listahan ng preventive measures na ipatutupad upang maprotektahan ang mga poll watchers, volunteers, at botante sa Halalan 2022.
Bukod sa mandatoryong pagsusuot ng face masks, physical distancing, at hand sanitation, kabilang sa naturang listahan ang temperature checking pagpasok sa voting precinct, pagsasaayos ng hiwalay na entrance at exit points, pagkakaroon ng health stations at holding areas, at pagkakabit of plastic barriers sa pagitan ng the electoral board at mga botante.
Sinabi rin ni Elnas na 10 hanggang 15 botante ang papayagan sa loob ng isang polling place mula alas-6 ng umaga hanggang alas-7 ng gabi.
“There are voting or polling places natin na malaki and magva-vary ito. At least, ang guidance is the minimum social distancing requirement [ay] maco-comply strictly within the classroom or polling place,” paliwanag niya.
Base kay DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Cainti, dahil sa pandemya kailangan ding magsagawa ng RT-PCR tests para sa public school teachers at iba pang boluntaryo sa eleksyon.
Inihain din ng DICT ang panukala na isama sa 2022 National Electoral Boards ang blended training at pagsasaayos ng digital signature registration booths sa physical training premises.
“The upcoming elections are sure to be the most challenging one yet. However, let us continue to trust our government who has been tirelessly working and coordinating with one another to set up an organized and safe 2022 elections for all Filipinos. We can achieve this through everyone’s cooperation and continued support in our endeavors,” ani Cainti.
Samantala, sinabi naman ng DICT na pinalalakas na nila ang cloud resources na kakailanganin sa darating na halalan. Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin sila sa Comelec para sa gagamiting sistema.
“DICT, through its Cybersecurity Bureau, has been conducting the Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing services to further assess the security of election data and information,” sabi ni Cainti. RNT/SA
