‘Herd immunity’ makakamit sa unang kwarter ng 2022 — DOH

Manila, Philippines – Sinabi ng Department of Health (DOH) na maaaring makamit ang herd immunity ng Pilipinas sa unang kwarter ng 2022.

“Assuming that there will be about 500,000 to 600,000 doses jab per day, the conservative estimate is…again supply permitting, we might be able to achieved herd immunity sometime second month of the first quarter,” saad ni DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III sa House Committee on Appropriations.

Sa pagdinig, tinanong ni House Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez kung kakailanganin pa ring bumili ng COVID vaccine.

Tugon ni Duque, inaasahan ang 195 milyon pang COVID dose bago magtapos ang 2021 at labis pa ito sa target ng gobyerno na 77 milyong katao.

“We are confident that the excess doses will be sufficient to cover those not belonging to the herd immunity population as identified.” RNT/FGDC
