Rep. Arnie Teves sinilbihan ng suspension order

MANILA, Philippines- Sinilbihan ng Kamara nitong Huweves si Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves, Jr. ng 60-day suspension order sa patuloy na hindi pagsulpot sa congressional proceedings sa kabila ng napasong travel authority.

Ipinalabas ni House of Representatives Secretary General Reginald Velasco ang kopya ng suspension order ni Teves na may petsang March 22.

Makikita sa kopya na natanggap na ng opisina ni Teves ang suspension order.

“This is to respectfully furnish your Honor with a copy of Committee Report No. 472 submitted by  the Committee on Ethics and Privileges re: the motu proprio investigation relative to Representative Arnolfo ‘Arnie’ A. Teves Jr.’s personal foreign trip to the United States of America with expired travel  clearance and his continued defiance to the orders of the House to return  to the country and perform his duties as House Member, pursuant to Section 7, Rule 1 of the Rules of the House of Representatives, which constitute disorderly behavior affecting the dignity, integrity and reputation of the House of Representatives,” saad sa suspension order.

Nauna nang naghain ang Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) ng tatlong murder complaints laban kay Teves sa mga pagpatay noong 2019.

Dawit din si Teves sa March 4 assassination ni Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

Itinanggi naman ng mambabatas ang pagkakasangkot sa mga krimen subalit hindi pa rin bumabalik ng Pilipinas mula sa overseas trip.

Bago bumoto ng kanyang mga kasamahan pabor sa kanyang60-day suspension, inihirit ni Teves na makausap si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

“Gusto ko sana kayo makausap para makapag-explain ako sa inyo. Baka tawagan ko, baka puede kay Boss Anton, para makausap ko po kayo, Mr. President,” pahayag ni Teves sa video sa kanyang Facebook page.

“Again, nirerespeto ko po kayo. Sana lang mapagbigyan niyo ako na makapagusap tayo. Kung kayo na ang humiling na umuwi ako, mas mahihirapan ako na humindi dahil mas may authority kayo makabigay ng proteksyon sa akin,” dagdag niya.

Iginiir pa ni Teves na hindi siya tinutugis ng pamahalaan dahil sa March 4 assassination kay Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo, subalit dahil umano sa mga indibidwal sa pamahalaan na nais siyang makulong dahil umano sa mga maling paratang.

Tinutukoy niya ang aniya’y January 12 press conference kung saan inakusahan niya si Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos ng planong pag-raid sa kanyang bahay at pagplanong magtanim ng ebidensya laban sa kanya. RNT/SA
