Hontiveros sa Ombudsman: ‘Masterminds’ sa Pharmally mess, imbestigahan din

MANILA, Philippines- Ikinatuwa ni Senator Risa Hontiveros nitong Huwebes ang suspension order na ipinalabas ng Office of the Ombudsman sa government officials na umano’y sangkot sa maanomalyang pagbili ng pandemic supplies mula sa Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. noong 2020 at 2021.

Subalit, sinabi ni Hontiveros na umaasa siyang iimbestigahan din ng Ombudsman “masterminds behind this modus.”

“My hope is that the investigation will also look into the masterminds behind this modus, well beyond the foot soldiers and mid-level officials,” pahayag niya.

“Although the Ombudsman order only covers the COVID-19 test kits, we look forward to an investigation of the PPEs and other overpriced procurements.”

Suspendido sa loob ng anim na buwan ang 33 tauhan ng Department of Health (DOH) at ng Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) alinsunod sa utos ng Office of the Ombudsman matapos matuklasan ang “overwhelming documentary proof” ng umano’y pagkakadawit nila sa iregularidad, na inimbestigahan ng Senate blue ribbon committee.

Ayon sa Ombudsman, ang mga kaso laban sa 33 “involve grave misconduct, gross neglect of duty, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.”

“Let justice be served. This investigation is just the beginning,” giit ni Hontiveros, isa sa mga senador na nakilahok sa blue ribbon probe at lumagda sa committee report, sa isang press conference.

“Anumang ill-gotten profit mula sa pera ng taumbayan ay dapat likumin at ibalik sa gobyerno kung saan ito nararapat.”

Inihayag din ni Hontiveros na umaaasa rin siya na mas maraming matutuklasan sa special audit na isasagawa ng Commission on Audit (COA).

“Sa pananaw ko po bunga ng aming investigation kasama si dating DOH secretary Duque,” aniya pa.

Sa kasalukuyan ay wala pang tugon si Duque hinggil dito. Nauna na niyang sinabi na hindi sangkot ang DOH sa anumang transaksyon sa Pharmally.

Noong 2021, pinangunahan ng Senate blue ribbon committee, sa ilalim ni dating Senator Richard Gordon, ang imbestigasyon sa paglilipat ng P42 bilyong COVID-19 funds mula sa DOH sa PS-DBM. RNT/SA
