Gulf states pinasalamatan ni PDu30 sa tulong sa COVID response

MANILA, Philippines- Pinasalamatan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang Gulf states para sa kanilang tulong sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response ng Pilipinas at nagpahayag ng kumpiyansa para sa “future labor reform initiatives”.

Ipinahayag ito ng Pangulo sa joint courtesy call ng ambassadors ng Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, at United Arab Emirates sa Malakanyang, nitong Miyerkules.

“President Duterte thanked the GCC governments for their assistance to the Philippines’ pandemic response efforts and in the repatriation of Filipino nationals affected by the COVID-19 crisis,” ayon sa kalatas na ipinalabas ng Office of the President.

Nakasaad rin sa kalatas na “Philippines looks forward to working closely with GCC partners as they implement their respective labor reform initiatives.”

“I hope that these reforms succeed and evolve to encompass the more vulnerable sectors in the GCC labor market, particularly household service workers,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.

Dagdag pa rito, tinukoy ng Chief Executive ang matagumpay na implementasyon ng strategic framework ng GCC countries na nakatutok sa economic diversification, na nagbukas ng oportunidad para sa “broader cooperation in various spheres, particularly climate change.”

“The Philippines is keenly interested in working with our GCC partners to realize our shared aspiration for a better future for all our peoples,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Sa kabilang dako, nagpahayag naman ng kasiyahan ang mga GCC ambassadors para sa oportunidad na makita at matalakay kay Pangulong Duterte ang bilateral issues ng mutual interest, kabilang na ang pandemic cooperation, labor reform, migration and development, regional peace and security, climate change at energy.
