Malakanyang, nagpaabot ng pakikiramay sa Cebu City, pamilya ni Labella

Manila, Philippines – Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay ang Malakanyang sa pamilya ni Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella na pumanaw dahil sa “septic shock secondary to pneumonia.”

Si Labella, 70  ay pumanaw alas- 3:15 ng umaga, Nobyembre 19 habang naka-confine sa Perpetual Succour Hospital.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and constituents of Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella who died this morning at the age of 70. We pray that perpetual light shine upon Mayor Labella and that he may rest in peace,” ayon kay acting Presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.

Sa ulat, maraming beses na nag-file si Labella ng medical leave nitong taon dahil na rin sa kanyang kalusugan.

Nitong Oktubre, nag-file siya ng indefinite leave of absence alinsunod na rin sa payo ng kaniyang mga doktor dahil sa pneumonia.

Sinabi naman ni Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar na maaalala si Labella dahil sa “important role in the development of Cebu City’s vibrant economy and efficient social services over the years”.

“His commitment to public service was furthered by his firm support for the Duterte administration,” ani Andanar.

Ani Andanar, ang pagpanaw ni Labella ay “truly a loss to the Cebuanos and all the people who have had the privilege of knowing him. He has touched the lives of many, served his constituents, and uplifted them from poverty, alongside President Rodrigo Roa Duterte”.

Sinabi naman ni Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino na maaalala niya ang pagsasama nila ni Labella sa public service at bilang malapit na kaibigan.

“I will cherish all those moments with Mayor Ed and will always remember him as a strong leader with a joyful heart,” ayon kay Dino sa kanyang Facebook account. Kris Jose
