Champions League ilulusad ng PNVF sa November

MANILA, Philippines – Isiniwalat ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) na itutuloy nila ang planong pagdaraos ng bansa ng Champions League ngayon taon.

Ayon kay PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, gaganapin ang Champions League para sa kababaihin at kalalakihan sa Nobyembre at susundan ito ng National Beach Volleyball Championship sa December.

“This will be the first national league by the PNVF,” ani Suzara kaugnay sa Champions League na unang itinakda nitong Setyembre.

Itinakda ang Champion’s League para sa kababaihan sa November 13-19 habang ang competition para sa kalalakihan ay sa November 20-26.  Gagawin naman ang National Beach Volleyball Championship sa unang linggo ng December.

Ang plano, ayon kay Suzara, ay para sa provincial teams na makalahok sa Champions League.

“This will be the first time that a national league will really cater not only to Metro Manila, but will cater to other provinces, welcoming them to the national league for the first time,” wika nito.

“In the women’s, I think we have nine (teams) now, but we will limit only to eight. And then, ‘yung men naman is about six to eight teams also that will participate. Hindi lang Metro Manila ‘to, but this includes other provinces,” dagdag pa nito. “So it’s a national league talaga.”

Samantala, tampok sa beach volleyball competition ang 16 mens’ at women’s teams sa bansa na pipiliin ni Charo Soriano na pinuno ng  PNVF’s Beach Volleyball Commission.

Umaasa si Suzara na dahil sa kumpetisyon ay mag-iimprub ang level ng volleyball sa mga probinsiya.

“Established na ang Metro Manila. We have to bring now these other teams in the province so they can see their level and we are helping them to improve,” wika nito.

Para sa kanilang inaugural editions, tatagal ang tournaments ng isang linggo, ani Suzara. Pero sa susunod na taon, mas gusto nilang mas tumagal ang kumpetisyon.

Nais umano ng PNVF na sundan ng bansa ang FIVB calendar para sa volleyball competitions ng bansa.

“We fixed the calendar, and next year, we will follow the FIVB calendar, we will follow the club league calendar, we will follow the national team period calendar,” hirit pa nito.Rico Navarro
