Survivorship benefits sa mga dating prosecutor, sinuportahan ni Bong Go

Manila – Sinusuportahan ni Senator Christopher “Bong” Go ang  pagsusulong ng Senate Bill No. 2373 na layong pagkalooban ng  survivorship benefits ang mga retiradong miyembro ng National Prosecution Service.

Isa si Go sa nag-co-authored ng panukala lalo’t ang mga retiradong prosecutors ay walang survivorship benefits kumpara sa kanilang counterparts sa Office of the Ombudsman, sa hudikatura  gayundin sa  kahalintulad na trabaho.

Sa kanyang co-sponsorship speech, binigyang pagkilala ni Senator Go ang kritikal na papel ng prosecutors sa criminal justice system lalo’t naging prosekyutor si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bago naging alkalde ng Davao City.

“President Duterte and I have been steadfast in our commitment to fight corruption and criminality in our country.”

“Prosecutors play a crucial role in this fight; without them, justice cannot be achieved and the rule of law cannot be upheld.” he continued.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, kapag namatay ang retired NPS member o ang miyembrong eligible na magretiro, ang surviving legitimate spouse at dependent children ng namayapang prosecutor ay entitled na makuha ang lahat ng retirement benefits na kanyang natatanggap.

Ang dependent na tumutukoy kapwa sa legitimate at illegitimate children o adopted children na nakapende sa namayapang kasapi ng NPS, ay hindi dapat lalagpas sa 21-anyos, unmarried at walang trabaho.

“It is high time that we acknowledge their invaluable contributions to public service by granting our retired prosecutors survivorship benefits,” Go ended.###
