P120M ismagel na mga yate, kinumpiska ng BOC

MANILA, Philipines – Kinumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang apat na mamahaling yate na pawang mga ismagel o ipinuslit papasok sa bansa.

Ang naturang hakbang ay bahagi ng BOC hinggil sa mahigpit nitong seguridad sa hangganan ng bansa kung saan inisyuhan ng seizure order ang mga nasabing ismagel na mga yate ni Manila International Container Port (MICP) District Collector Romeo Allan Rosales alinsunod sa Section 1113 ng RA 10863 na kilala rin bilang Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). Kabilang sa mga kinumpiskang mga yate ay ang 70 footer na Le Boss, 55 footer na Yuzhen8, 110 footer na Yua Hal Ming Zhu, at 59 footer na Gu Cheng Gang Guan.

“Estimated to have a market value of Php 120 Million, the yachts were being utilized as transport services, residence and were being commercially offered as venues for events and for private use without the necsessary conversion permit for local use as well as the payment of proper duties and taxes,” saad ng BOC.

Binigyang diin naman ni District Collector Rosales na ang mga sasakyan kabilang ang mga “water vessels” ay dapat na mai-import alinsunod sa Philippine Customs Laws at iparehistro sa mga awtoridad ng Pilipinas tulad ng Philippine Marina.  Jay Reyes
