PBBM sa mga mananakay: Magbaon ng mahabang pasensya sa konstruksyon ng NSCR project

SA pagsisimula ng roll out ng North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), umapela si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa publiko na magpasensiya sa “inconvenience” na madadala ng pagtatayo nito.

Sinaksihan ni Pangulong Marcos ang ceremonial contract signing sa pagitan ng Department of Transportation at winning bidders para sa NSCR Project-South Commuter Section contract packages S-02 at S-03B sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, araw ng Huwebes, Abril 27.

“To our beloved citizens: you remain at the core of all these pursuits. We are aware of the struggles you encounter daily, and strive hard to address them,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang naging talumpati.

“As a consequence, there will be unavoidable disruptions and inconvenience occasioned by the project’s construction. So, we ask for your continued patience, your understanding, and set our sights instead on the glory of its accomplishment in a few years’ time,” dagdag na wika nito.

Sinabi ng Pangulo, sa naging paglagda sa kontrata, ang third phase ng NSCR system—ang South Commuter Section o South Commuter Railway Project (SCRP)—ay magsisimula na sa lalong madaling panahon.

“The contract packages constitute some 14-kilometer stretch of the SCRP, running through Metro Manila, both above and below its surface,” ayon sa Malakanyang.

May kabuuang 55.6 kilometers, ang SCRP ay kokonekta sa Maynila patungong Laguna, “rounding out the southern leg of the NSCR system.”

“In a larger context, this is also an extremely exciting prospect, because it means that all phases of the NSCR system are now officially in full swing,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

Ang railway system ay may kabuuang haba o distansiya na 147.26 kilometers. sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos, itonay “massive boost to our overall transportation infrastructure,” mapakikinabangan ng 800,000 passengers kada araw.

Ang pagkakagawa ng contract packages, sa kabilang dako ay inaasahan na makalikha ng mahigit sa 2,000 hanapbuhay.

“Most importantly, the completion of the full NSCR line will bring greater convenience for our commuters. It will offer an efficient and comfortable transport alternative that spans the great distance, connecting Pampanga to Manila and then to Laguna,” ayon sa Pangulo.

“As a consequence, we expect not only decongestion along our main thoroughfares, especially within Metro Manila, but also faster travel times for commuters in general,” dagdag na wika nito sabay sabing “Once fully operational in 2029, it will cater to around 800,000 passengers daily and reduce travel time from Clark Airport in Pampanga to Calamba, Laguna in less than two hours.”

Sa naging talumpati ng Pangulo, tinanggap ng Pangulo ang Asian Development Bank (ADB) at Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) bilang “active and consistent partners” ng bansa sa infrastructure development para sa mas maraming taon ngayon.

Kinilala ang partner contractors: Acciona- DMCI Joint Venture at ang Leighton-First Balfour Joint Venture.

Samantala, nangako naman ang Pangulo na ang gobyerno ay “”will be diligent in finishing this project with excellence, with honesty, and with the proper urgency.”
