Paa ng 12 indibidwal huhugasan sa Huwebes Santo – Cardinal Advincula

MANILA, Philippines – Nakatakdang hugasan ni Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula ang paa ng 12 indibidwal mula sa ibat-ibang sektor ng lipunan sa Huwebes,
Abril 6, ayon sa Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM).

“Heeding the call of His Holiness Pope Francis to become a more listening and compassionate church, Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula will wash the feet of twelve persons of those coming from different sectors of society who need our attention and concern,” sinabi ng RCAM sa isang pahayag.

Ayon pa sa RCAM, kabilang sa mga indibidwal na lalahok ay sina Dr. Ryan Capitulo mula sa LGBT community, broadcast journalist Raffy Tima, Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, Judge Caroline Rivera-Colasito mula sa judiciary, Johhan Joseph Ararao mula sa Intramuros Administration, kalesa driver Cyril John Sunnga, jeepney driver John Michael Roldan, Angkas rider Manuel Jorge Manarang, mission station priest Ernesto Panelo, Sr. Liane Rainville, farmer Alberto Mandia, at Dumagat indigenous elder Iluminada Sta. Ana.

Ayon sa RCAM, ang paghuhugas ng paa ay bahagi ng evening mass sa Maundy Thursday o Huwebes Santo sa Abril 6 sa Manila Cathedral ganap na alas 5 ng hapon.

Bahagi ito ng liturhiya bilang paggunita sa Huling Hapunan ni Hesukristo kasama ang kanyang mga apostol.

“This significant practice of the Catholic Church is a symbolic act of humility, service, and love which is also associated with acts of charity and compassion,” dagdag ng RCAM.

Noong nakaraang taon, hinugasan ni Cardinal Advincula ang paa ng 12 indibidwal na nagtrabaho noong national at local elections. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
