SEC sa publiko: Mag-ingat sa mga ‘di rehistradong play-to-earn, crypto platforms

 MANILA, Philippines—Nagbabala sa publiko ang Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sa pagsali sa mga “play-to-earn” gaming platforms at crypto platforms na hindi lisensyado sa Pilipinas.

Base sa paalalang pinaskil ng SEC sa kanilang opisyal na website, nakatanggap umano sila ng mangilan-ngilang katanungan ukol sa magiging problema sa transakyon sa ilang foreign corporations na may mga produktong mayroon sa bansa ngunit hindi naman rehistrado.

“The public is also advised to avoid transacting with corporations or entities without any registration or license to do business in the Philippines in order to avoid losing their earnings,” aniya.

“If an entity or an activity is unlicensed or unregistered and is based abroad, you run the risk of not getting your money back once these are transmitted outside of the Philippines.”

Narito ang inilabas na listahan ng SEC ng ilan sa mga unregistered online platforms sa bansa:

1. Foreign Currency (Forex) Brokers and Exchanges

2. Digital Asset / Cryptocurrency / Virtual Asset Exchanges

3. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Investment Platforms

4. Yield Farming / Staking Platforms

5. Multi-asset / Multi-security Brokerage Companies

6. Websites for Securities Token Offerings / Token Generation Events

7. Illegal Investment Scheme websites

8. Binary Options Trading applications

9. Pay-to-Click / Captcha websites

10. ‘Play-to-Earn Gaming’ platforms

11. Various fiat / cryptocurrency gambling websites 12. Various cryptocurrency-related investment websites

“If you put your earnings in a platform which is reachable in the Philippines, but is operated by non-registered corporations or entities, the government can offer very limited protection or, in some cases, no protection…” saad sa paalala.

Ngunit siniguro naman ng ahensya na kung sakaling magkaroon ng implikasyon sa pagitan ng mga unregistered foreign entity, maaari pa ring humingi ng tulong ang mga Pilipino sa lokal na korte. RNT/RG
