Roque sa mga oposisyon: Desperado; Otso Diretso, ‘epic failure’

Manila, Philippines – Pinalagan ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang mga opposition senator dahil sa patuloy na pag-iingay ukol sa overpriced na personal protective equipment (PPEs) ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.

Sinabi ni Sec. Roque, hindi isang reelectionist si Pangulong Duterte sa May 2022 national elections, subalit kaansin-pansin na naging mas lalong abala ang mga kritiko ng administrasyon na gumawa ng isyu laban sa pamahalaan.

“Desperado po ang oposisyon; gumagawa po ng issue laban sa administrasyon maski hindi naman po magre-reelection ang ating Presidente,” ayon kay Sec. Roque.

Kumbinsido si Sec. Roque na ginagawa ito ng oposisyon para hindi na maulit ang Otso-Diretso sa kanilang senador noong 2019 senatorial race.

“Pero siguro ginagawa nila ito para hindi ma-Otso Diretso ang kanilang mga senador ,”aniya pa rin.

Ang Otso Diretso, ay “straight eight, was the senatorial slate formed by coalesced opposition factions after the first three years of President Duterte’s term.”

“The slate is ignominious for failing to win even a single seat in the 2019 Senate race. According to Wikipedia, this was the first time in the history of the current bicameral composition of the Philippine Congress (House of Representatives and Senate) under the 1987 Constitution that the opposition failed to win a seat in one of the chambers, and the first time since the 1938 election that the opposition failed to win a single seat in a legislative election.”

Sa kabilang dako, walang humpay na binatikos at patuloy na nag-iingay sina Senador Franklin Drilon at Risa Hontiveros ukol sa isyu ng overpriced na PPEs.
