COA reports walang ‘malice’ – IBP

MANILA, Philippines – Isang pagtupad lamang ng tungkulin ang pagpuna ng Commission on Audit (COA) sa mga kakulangan sa paggamit ng pondo, ayon sa Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP).

“When the COA issues a report, it fulfills its constitutional duty, nothing more,” pahayag ng IBP.

“The COA’s report by itself bears no malice and is actually based on the government’s own records or the lack of it.”

Mandato ng COA na bantayan ang paggamit ng pondo ng gobyerno.

“Whatever ‘taint’ or ‘perception’ of corruption that arises from a COA report is not the fault of the auditors who are simply doing their sworn function,” anila.

“We submit that rather than criticizing the COA and its auditors, the Department of Health should instead cooperate with them and explain the ‘deficiencies’ and submit documentation or supporting papers to explain its side.”

Ilang mga ahensya ng gobyerno ang pinuna ng COA ukol sa paggamit ng pondo batay sa ulat ng komisyon para sa taong 2020.

Pinakamalaki ang napuna ng komisyon sa Department of Health na may halagang P67.32 bilyon.

Para naman kay Pangulong Duterte, ang ulat ay dahil sa kakulangang sa dokumento.

Sinisilip na ng Kongreso ang ulat ng COA sa DOH. RNT/ELM
