4 labor bills para sa proteksyon ng mga manggagawa lusot na sa Kamara

MANILA, Philippines- Apat na panukala na nakatuon para mabigyan ng proteksyon ang mga mangaggawa ang pumasa na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa sa Kamara.

Kabilang sa labor bills ay ang House Bills 988 (Increasing the Service Incentive Leave of Workers Act), House Bill 924 (Barangay Skilled Workers Act), HB 227 (Caregivers Welfare Act), at HB 454 (Media Workers Welfare Act).

Ayon kay House Committee on Labor and Employment Chairman at Rizal Rep.Fidel Nograles umaasa ang Kamara na aaprubahan ng Senado ang nasabing panukala upang agad na maipatupad.

“These bills would strengthen the labor sector once they are passed into law,” pahayag ni Nograles.

“Labor markets are important especially in developing countries like ours as employment status is one of the key determinants of eradicating poverty. As chair of the Committee on Labor, I am delighted that the House has prioritized the passage of these measures, which will protect and strengthen the rights and welfare of our labor force,” dagdag pa nito.

Sa ilalim ng HB 988 ay dinoble na ang service incentive leave (SIL), mula 5 ay ginawa nang 10 araw ang leave na maaaring makuha ng mga manggagawa kada taon.

“HB 924, meanwhile, creates a barangay skilled workers registry, which would serve as a voluntary repository of skilled workers’ information, including their names, addresses, contact information, and skills or nature of services they could provide,” paliwanag nito.

Ang HB 277 ay pagtiyak na mabibigyan ng maayos na employment ang mga caregivers samantala ang HB 454 ay para masiguro ang maayos na working conditions ng mga media workers kasama na dito ang pagtanggap ng living wages at comprehensive benefits package na kahalintulad ng mga natatanggap ng mga mangagawa mula sa private at public workers.

Nabatid na bukod sa nabanggit na 4 na panukala ag mayroon pang 2 labor bills ang nakabinbin sa Kamara na nasa ikalawang pagbasa.
