Manlalaro ng Benilde naghain na ng reklamo vs John Amores

MANILA, Philippines – Naghain na ng reklamo ng physical injury ang mga manlalaro ng De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde na sina Jimboy Pasturan at Taine Davis laban sa basketbolista ng Jose Rizal University na si John Amores, Biyernes ng umaga, Nobyembre 10.

Matatandaan na sina Pasturan at Davis ang sinuntok ni Amores nang mag-amok ito sa huling laban ng dalawang paaralan nitong Martes sa 4th quarter ng laro.

Mismong ang coach ng Benilde na si Charles Tiu ang nagsilbing witness para sa naturang reklamo.

Aniya, handa naman umano silang mag-move on sa nangyaring insidente ngunit hindi nila palalampasin ang nararapat na aksyon para rito.

“For us, it’s just really an unfortunate incident that we felt really could have been avoided if they were able to keep emotions a little bit in check. We felt it’s a game won for us,” sinabi ni Tiu.

“Tapos na sana and none of this should have happened, and we have guys punched. I guess that’s part of life, part of basketball, and I’m just thankful that none other guys got hurt right now,” dagdag pa niya.

Sa kabila nito, handa namang magpatawad ang koponan sa naturang insidente.

“As disappointing as it is, we asked the team to just learn to forgive for whatever happened but we’re still gonna take the right actions that need to be done.”

Ngayon ay nakatutok pa rin ang Benilde sa pag-eensayo para sa pagpapatuloy ng NCAA na sa katunayan ay makakaharap ang University of Perpetual Help System DALTA sa panibagong labanan.

“I told the team to just focus on basketball. We leave it up to the higher-ups, the lawyers, the school officials,” dagdag pa ni Tiu.

“Kami, we’ll just go back to playing basketball cause that’s what we’re here to do and hopefully no other incident like this happens.” RNT/JGC
