PH-France bilateral ties muling pinagtibay nina Macron, Marcos

MANILA, Philippines- Muling pinagtibay ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Philippines diplomatic ties sa France sa pamamagitan ng phone conversation kay  French President Emmanuel Macron.

Napagkasunduan ng dalawang lider  na ipagpatuloy ang malalim na kalakalan sa larangan ng  low-carbon energy, food security, defense at human trade,.

“Macron “recalled France’s commitment to the Indo-Pacific, with particular attention paid to respect for international maritime law and the issues of preserving biodiversity and the oceans,” ang nakasaad sa kalatas.

“President Marcos welcomed the efforts of the President of the Republic [of France] in favor of peace,” ang nakasaad pa rin sa kalatas.

Ang inisyatiba “to combat food insecurity, aggravated by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine” as well as possible programs to “protect coastal ecosystems in their role of carbon storage and absorption” were also discussed,” ayon pa rin sa kalatas .

Hinikayat naman ni Macron si Pangulong Marcos na sumali sa  Coalition of the High Ambition for Nature and Peoples, na naglalayong  protektahan ang  30% ng marine at land territories sa taong  2030.

Hanggang sa ngayon ay wala pa ring ipinalalabas na pahayag ang Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) ukol sa phone call.

Ang dalawang lider  ay inaasahan na dadalo sa  United Nations General Assembly sa New York sa susunod na linggo.

Nauna rito, ang French Embassy sa Manila ay nag-host ng symposium na may titulong  “Revolutionizing the Philippine Defense Posture with France in the Indo-Pacific”  habang ang dalawang banda ay nakatakdang magdiwang ng kanilang 75th year ng  bilateral relations  ngayong linggo. Kris Jose
