Mga mali sa bagong P1K bill sinita ni Zarate

Manila, Philippines – Sinita ni House Deputy Minority leader at Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ang mga mali sa bagong labas P1,000 bill.

Tinutukoy rito ang imahe ng Philippine eagle na dapat agad itama ng BSP.

“First, the BSP should correct the scientific name of the Philippine eagle into Pithecophaga jefferyi because the one they wrote on the new P1000 bill was Pithecophaga jefforyi,” ani Zarate.

“Second, the scientific name should also be italicized because it is in Latin and needs to be differentiated from the English language. This is one of the rules in the proper writing of scientific names.”

Base pa kay Zarate, katulad din ito sa pagkakamali ng BSP sa inilabas na bagong note sa 2020.

“The BSP made almost the same mistake in 2010, thus, it is lamentable that the same mistake is repeated. We trust that prior to the printing of the new notes, these mistakes will be corrected, so as not to waste funds or resources.”

 “We hope that the BSP will heed our call as it is quite embarrassing that a part our official currency has mistakes that will be propagated.”

Naunang nagpaliwanag ang BSP sa maling apilido ni President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo na “Arrovo” habang noong 2010, mali naman ang middle name ni President Rodrigo Roa Duterte na naka-spell na “Boa”. RNT/FGDC
