Bayan Muna sa national candidates: Posisyon sa WPS, ideklara!

MANILA, Philippines – Hinamon ng grupong Bayan Muna ang mga national candidates ngayong 2022 election na ihayag sa publiko ang kanilang posisyon sa West Philippine Sea(WPS) dispute sa pagitan ng China at Pilipinas.

Sinabi nina House Deputy Minority Leader and Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani at Chairman Neri Colmenares na dapat malinaw ang “stand” ng mga kandidato sa isyu lalo at soberenya ng bansa ang nakasalalay dito.

“The Philippine government has to take a more determined position of being “more pro-active now in asserting our territorial rights than just lodging diplomatic protests.” pahayag ni Zarate sa harap na rin ng bagong report na ilang Chinese Coast Guard vessels ang humarang sa Philippine supply boats sa Ayungin Shoal.

Giit naman ni Colmenares na dapat alam ng mga botane kung pro-China ang mga kandidato at kaanib ba sa foreign policy ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“We also ask all presidential and senatorial candidates, especially the Marcos-Duterte tandem to categorically declare whether they are in favor or against Pres. Duterte’s West Philippine Sea foreign policy to favor China,” hamon pa nila. Gail Mendoza
