Manila, Philippines – Naaresto ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang isang doktor sa Cebu City at anak nito dahil sa pagpupuslit ng mga gamot laban sa COVID-19 treatment.

Kinilala ni NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Director Eric B. Distor ang suspek na sina Dr. Nelson T. Ong at Raisa Nicole C. Ong,  third-year medical student.

Dagdag pa rito, nakuha ang 10 pirasong Tocilizumab vials at  25 kahon ng Baricitinib tablet.

Nasa loob aniya ito ng kahon na lumalabas na inimport mula India ngunit walang local importer o distributor.

Nakapirma naman dito si Raisa Ong, na isang aktibong distributor ng

“A Chinese looking female, later identified as Raisa Ong, showed up to claim the package. Subject Raisa Ong was accompanied by Subject Nelson Ong while processing the release of the subject package. Upon withdrawal of the package, Subjects Raisa Ong and Nelson Ong proceeded to their vehicle.”

“At this juncture, NBI-CEVRO operatives immediately approached Subjects. The operatives requested the Subjects to open the cold storage box and they agreed. Subject Raisa Ong opened the box and found therein ten (10) pieces of Tocilizumab vials and 25 boxes of Baricitinib, also a medicine for COVID-19, tablets all placed in carton packaging which appeared to be imported from India but no local importer or distributor and without the FDA approved labelling and prints,” saad pa rito.

Wala namang naipresenta na dokumento o lisensya upang makapag-import ang mag-ama kung kaya’t sila ay naaresto. RNT/FGDC
