Pagbili ng mae-expire na RT-PCR test kits sa Pharmally pinayagan ng DOH – Duque

Manila, Philippines – Kinumpirma ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III na natanggap ng Department of Health (DOH) ang nasa P600 milyong halaga ng RT-PCR test kits na mapapaso na sa loob ng anim na buwan kahit pa ang request nila ay nasa 12 hanggang 24 na buwang shelf life.

“During the inspection of these items, it was discussed with the DOH,” saad ni dating PS-DBM inspector Mervin Tanquintic sa mga senador.

“It was determined that the kits would be consumed prior to the expiration date.”

Dumepensa rin dito si Duque at sinabing nagmamadali na ang DOH na makakuha ng mas maraming RT-PCR test kits.

“At that time kasi very acute ang need for the testing kits.”

“Alam namin na mauubos din ito so it’s much better to get them, to use them in effect to know who among the people are infected,” punto pa ni Duque.

Iginiit naman ni Sen. Francis Pangilinan na dapat nagkaroon ng malaking discount ang PS-DBM dahil sa mapapaso na ang mga kit.

“Importante ito kasi kapag maaga na ang expiry date dapat mas mura… kapag malapit na ang expiry, ang bentahan ninyan dapat mas mababa.”

“Overpriced na, hindi pa tama ang specs,” ani Pangilinan.

“What was bought was bought in bulk,” lahad naman ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon.

“The records will show that 1 week after purchases were made at P27 per piece, suddenly there was available P13 per piece.”

“All these things are something that is really out of the normal,” punto pa nito. RNT/FGDC
