PSA: Higit 72M Pinoy nagpatala para sa nat’l ID

MANILA, Philippines- Mahigit 72 milyong Pilipino ang nagparehistro para sa national ID hanggang nitong Agosto 26, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes.

Inihayag ng PSA na 72,348,546 Pilipino ang nakakumpleto na ng Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 Registration, kung saan isinasagawa ang pagkuha ng biometric information, gaya ng fingerprints, iris, at front-facing photographs.

Sinabi pa ng PSA na ang bilang ay katumbas ng 78.6% ng 92 milyong registration target para sa 2022.

 Target ng state statistics bureau na maipamahagi ang 30 milyong physical cards at 20 milyong digital IDs sa pagtatapos ng taon.

“The digital ID has the same functionality and validity as the physical PhilID cards,” sabi ni Fred Sollesta ng PhilSys Registry Office. “Expected to be rolled out this year, this will allow Filipinos to enjoy the benefits of being registered to PhilSys while waiting for their physical cards.” RNT/SA
